Druţa, "St. Nicolae" The Church.

Description

At  Druta is an old church dating from the 19th century. "Monument with three crosses", which is preserved near the church even today, about 300 hundred years ago, was the prestol (altar) of the former wooden church. That church was sold to Şarbaca. The stone church was built by the people of Lipovi, with the support of the locals, who contributed money and products. The foundation of the church was laid by three rich people: Gheorghe Eșanu, Mogâldean and Ion Țurcanu. During the construction of the church, the women brought 500 eggs each, the white of which was used to prepare the mortar. On "St. Nicholas" the church opened its doors, being also the patron of the church "St. Nicholas".
